In 2023, I received an inquiry in French for a blow molding machine from Algeria. After responding, the customer expressed interest in our machine and said he would contact me later. However, after repeated emails, there was no response. A month later, I received a call from the customer. Perhaps he accidentally hung up when adding me as a friend. I quickly called back, and the call went through. I inquired about the customer's interest in the waterline and their production capacity. These few words laid the groundwork for our subsequent order.

After the quote and a brief conversation, the customer disappeared. No matter how I contacted him, whether by message or phone, he received no response. However, I didn't give up. I continued to send him messages and call him sporadically. Then one day, the customer told me he was coming to China to view the machine and that he would visit several factories, perhaps a dozen. Before his visit, he asked many technical questions about the machine. I learned that he was a professional in the industry, well-versed in both technology and machinery, and had extensive experience. Due to the time difference, clients often messaged me with questions near midnight. However, understanding the unique characteristics of our industry, I stayed up late to respond. The client praised my dedication and expressed his recognition of my professionalism. He said, "I haven't seen the machine yet, so I don't know which company's quality will satisfy me. But as a salesperson, I'm most satisfied with you." This recognition from the client filled me with immense satisfaction and joy, and I felt all my efforts were worthwhile.

In October of the same year, the client arrived in China, and I met him at the Shanghai airport. He was very grateful for the visit, but he also told me that while he appreciated the pick-up, it wouldn't affect his decision about which company to buy from. I knew the client was a man who kept his personal life separate, and what mattered most to him was the quality of the machine.
After a night of rest and jet lag, we took the client on a tour of our factory and our machines. He even climbed onto the filling machine to examine its components, including the cylinders. We were astonished. He asked many technical questions, and we answered them all. He concluded that our machine's quality met his expectations. However, over the next few days, he continued to travel alone, visiting over a dozen other factories. He wasn't satisfied with some, while others he felt met his quality requirements. However, we were confident we were the best choice for him.
Before returning home, the customer said he hadn't yet decided, but afterward, I continued to actively contact and follow up with him. I believed our company's strengths and the quality and price of our machines would distinguish us from the competition. As expected, the customer chose us. He said our prices weren't the lowest, but his service and responsiveness were what satisfied him most. He was willing to pay a little more for a reliable and responsible partner.
